PHIHONG INTRODUCES ITS 100W 3" BY 5" POWER SUPPLY FEATURING A ONE-INCH PROFILE
Fremont, CA (April 12, 2002) - Providing OEM electronic equipment designers with a power supply featuring a one-inch profile, Phihong introduces its PSS100 open frame power supply. The PSS100 is the lowest useable profile in the industry. This L
-Bracket power supply requires no additional clearance space underneath, unlike other solutions in the market place that require the extra space.
"The PSS100 power supply's one-inch profile allows it to be placed easily in tight
spaces," said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA. "While other power supply manufacturers claim to offer a one-inch profile, their power
supply is required to be mounted on a PC board, increasing the profile to at least 1.125".
The power supply features a compact size and a high power density at 100W output.
Designed for use in networking systems, low-profile racks, telephony equipment and gaming machines, the PSS100 is a single output, L-bracket, open frame power supply
with a 15.3 cubic inch footprint.
The unit meets FCC class B and EN55022B conducted noise limits. Safety approvals include UL1950 Class I, EN60950, cUL, Semko and CE (LVD). With efficiency ranging
from 75 to 84 percent, the PSS100 power supply's input delivers 90 to 264 VAC and 47 to 63Hz. Leakage current for the power supply is <0.5mA@254VAC. The PSS100
power supply provides a hold-up time of 16mS@115VAC and 64mS@230VAC.
Designed and built to Phihong's engineering and quality standards, the PSS100 has an overload protection with 125 percent overrange foldback as well as self
-recovering and protection features against short circuits. The PSS100 power supply measures 15.3 cubic inches and weighs 139g. Pricing is $68.37 per 100 units and
samples are available immediately. Production lead-times are 8-10 weeks.
