Phihong 500W Switching Power Supply Provides n+1 Power
 in a 1u Package for Networking and PoE 

FREMONT, Calif. (June 6, 2005) — Phihong USA, a global leader in electronic accessories and power supplies, introduced a 500 Watt 1U switching power supply with 1500VAC output isolation and SELV output for applications such as Power-over-Ethernet, telecommunications, servers and network redundant power sources. The   PSM500-210, available with 48V or 12V main outputs and 12V standby output, operates from an input voltage range of 85-265VAC with active power factor correction and is hotplug n+1 configurable for scaleable and redundant applications.

“PoE-powered wireless access points or for  VoIP telephones and network infrastructure require power sources that are continuous, redundant and scaleable,”  said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA.  “By offering an n+1 product designed to operate from different power sources, the PSM500 enables a power solution that can provide single point backup for distributed PoE -powered devices or network infrastructure without multiple UPSs.”

The PSM500 has integral cooling, current sharing, and standby 12V supply, and is fully protected against overload, over-temperature and over-voltage.  It features diagnostic capabilities, a front panel LEDs and optional isolation diodes. Three PSM500s can be loaded into a 1U, 19” rack for 1500W.
