60 Watt PSA-65U-300 Adapter Series Provides Triple Outputs for Larger, More Complex Systems
Fremont, California, January 15, 2001 --- Phihong USA has announced the PSA-65U-300 series adapters deliver 65 watts from
three outputs to meet the needs of higher power, more complex systems. The three outputs can eliminate the need for dc/dc converters in these systems.
The PSA-65U-300 triple output series is aimed at systems including small business check sorting and verification systems as well as more common
networking applications.
The series was designed to satisfy the emerging need for higher power
systems in which fast time-to-market precluded the time necessary to obtain full system safety agency approval. Since the hazardous 115 or 230 Vac line
voltages are converted to Safety Extra Low Voltages (SELV) in the already-safety-approved Phihong power supply, OEM system safety certification is significantly simpler and quicker.
The 65W PSA-65U-300 is also smaller than Phihong's existing 50W adapters.
The case itself measures 6.5" x 3.2" x 1.7" and includes a five-foot long output cable with 8-pin DIN connector. The non-vented, spill-proof plastic case eliminates shock hazards.
The series has two models. The PSA-65U-301 provides +5V@6A, +12V@2A and -12V@0.5A. The PSA-65U-302 provides the same output voltages but at
different currents; +5V@7A, +12V@1A and -12V@1A. Output ripple is 1% peak-to-peak max and combined line and load regulation is ±5% on all outputs.
Both models are UL, CSA and TUV safety approved. In addition, the adaptor is
designed to meet European directives. Both models meets FCC class B and EN55022 B conducted and radiated emissions and IEC 1000-4-5 level 3 ac
surge immunity. They also meet IEC 1000-4-2 level 2, IEC 1000-4-3 level 2, IEC 1000-4-4 level 2 subparts of EN50082-1 noise immunity. They will soon bear the CE mark.
Pricing is $39.35/100 and both models are available off-the-shelf.
