— Phihong, the global leader in low cost power supplies, has begun mass production of a wide variety of Power-over-Ethernet solutions, making it easier and affordable for businesses to make the switch to PoE. With a product line including single-port injectors, DIMM power modules, multiport midspans and power supplies with integrated PoE, Phihong has recognized the growing popularity of PoE technology while addressing the issues of cost and accessibility. The company has also made compliance with the new IEEE802.3af international standard a priority in the development of the product line.

PoE technology is an innovative solution to problems involving AC power and the placement of power outlets. PoE allows both power and data to be carried over an Ethernet
cable. While installing local power outlets in a warehouse, store or office can cost hundreds of dollars and cause delays due to scheduling for an electrician, moving or installing an Ethernet cable
doesn’t carry any of these limitations.
The product line includes:
- PSA16U, a switching power supply, that is one of the only single port injectors to fully comply with IEEE802.3af;
- DIMM power modules, for implementing 8 to 48 ports in IP phone systems, switches and blades, that are smaller than competitive solutions and dissipate 30 percent less
heat;
- Power supplies with integrated PoE, one of the only field-upgradeable solutions available;
- Multiport midspan power injectors that offer full 15.4W per port at a cost 40 percent lower than competitor solutions that have only limited total power capability; and
