Regulations:

China Energy Conservation Project (CECP)

Applicable Territory: China
Standard: Voluntary, possibly Mandatory

The CECP, much like the EPA in the US, works closely with Energy Star to make sure testing procedures and energy efficiency standards complement one another. The CECP is a voluntary program that has expanded to cover more than 90 product categories. Its mission is to save energy and reduce emissions by encouraging manufacturers to make more efficient products. If compliance is low, the government is not against setting mandatory standards on products.
